I have everything needed to make a vanilla cake except baking powder. I do have baking soda, though. Every recipe I’ve found calls for baking powder. Can I substitute baking soda instead? Also, every Google search I do, even when I specify “NO BAKING POWDER,” still leads me to recipes that include it.

@KitchenSpoon. You can not actually make a baking powder without a baking soda that’s why no matter how you specify the results are still the same.
