I’m in need of a good dairy-free sour cream substitute for my recipes. What are some effective alternatives that work well in both baking and cooking? Any specific brands or homemade recipes that you’ve found to be particularly successful?

Non-dairy yogurt works well. Make sure to get an unsweetened version. If you can find Greek-style, it will work better. If the yogurt is watery, strain it with a coffee filter or cheesecloth before using it. I recommend Kite Hill and Forager for baking.
