Celebrating with Cinnamon Buns-Swipe to frost

It’s my husband’s birthday today, and he chose cinnamon buns over cake! :tada:

Do you prefer your buns frosted or plain?

You did an amazing job on these. Did you use the strip and roll method or are you just really good at cutting dough?

For some reason, I like them more without frosting. I usually make my frosting thinner so it sinks into the grooves while still seeing the rings, but none of my cinnamon rolls have looked this nice to show off.

Have you made any other types of rolls? I’m curious if it’s the same process but with different fillings, like switching to raspberry.

I’ve not heard of the strip and roll method; I just chop the ends off and eyeball each roll as I cut. I’ve only ever made unfrosted cinnamon rolls. This was my first attempt at frosting (that’s why I only frosted half) I will definitely thin out the frosting more next time. I think you can change the filling; I’ll have to try that out :blush:

Yes, I thought we were a smaller group than we are! I think cinnamon rolls are perfectly sweet on their own. The frosting just adds too much sweetness!

I enjoy the middle without frosting because it’s ooey gooey and tasty on its own. The rest of it, I prefer with frosting.
