Easy Dessert Recipes

I’m looking for some easy dessert recipes that I can whip up without spending too much time in the kitchen. Between work and family commitments, I don’t have a lot of free time, but I still want to treat my family to something sweet and delicious. Any favorites or go-to recipes you swear by? I’m especially interested in no-bake options or anything that uses fresh summer fruits. Bonus points if it’s a hit with kids! Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

When our sweet tooth is STRONG, we make what we like to call “crack,” and it’s super easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 pack of saltines
  • 1 bag of semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the saltines in a single layer on top.
  2. Melt the butter on the stovetop (or in the microwave) and mix in the brown sugar. You might need more sugar, but this is the ratio I remember.
  3. Evenly distribute the sugar mixture over the saltines.
  4. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the sugar mixture.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven and broil until the chocolate chips just start to melt (about 5 minutes).
  6. Spread the melted chocolate chips evenly over the saltines and let the mixture set in the fridge until cool.

You can typically cut the cooled treat into saltine-sized pieces, but we just break it into chunks. It lasts forever!
