Egg substitute for ground flaxseed and chia seeds?

I know chia seeds and 1/4 cup of flaxseed are usually used in place of eggs, but I was wondering if there was a way I could replace them with an egg in this cookie recipe? Perhaps two eggs rather than the two? I am not really sure if these can be substituted or what the ratio is.

I suppose I do not have flaxseed or chia seeds and I do not want to buy them for this particular recipe.

Hi!
Absolutely, you can substitute eggs for chia seeds or flaxseed in your cookie recipe!

Typically, 1 tablespoon of ground chia or flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons of water is used to replace one egg.

So, if your recipe calls for 1/4 cup of flaxseed (which is about 4 tablespoons), you would be replacing the equivalent of 4 eggs.

Since you don’t have chia or flaxseed and don’t want to buy them, you can use regular eggs instead.

For your recipe, you can use 4 eggs to replace the 1/4 cup of flaxseed.

Happy baking!

Eggs can be substituted for the flax or chia seeds, although the recipe normally calls for more liquid to make up for the loss of moisture when using an egg substitute. For this reason, you might need to change the liquid ratios to keep the dish from becoming overly soft.
