Recipe for oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

To make things fun, I am on the hunt for the absolute BEST oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe out there.

Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups (240g) old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups (270g) chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1 cup (125g) chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the oats and chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

One cup of light brown sugar in a pack

half a cup of powdered sugar

1 and a quarter cups all-purpose flour

One-half tsp baking soda

One tsp salt

One cup of walnuts, chopped

One cup of chocolate chips, semisweet

First step:

Set the oven’s temperature to 325°F, or 165°C.

Cream the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a big bowl until they are creamy.
