What are some great pie ideas for Thanksgiving? Let’s discuss Thanksgiving pies!
Question: What are your favorite pie recipes for Thanksgiving? This year is my first Thanksgiving without family, and while I love my usual recipes, I’m thinking about trying something new. I typically make a version of my grandmother’s pumpkin pie with a cream cheese layer and walnut streusel topping. What are you all planning to bake this year?
This one is incredible, it’s at least a fourth-generation recipe. I’ve been slacking off and haven’t made it hands-on with my mother to learn how to replicate it. But that’s going to change on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
That sounds delicious! I wonder if my mom would let me swap her Raisin Chess pie with something like this. The Raisin Chess pie usually goes untouched by anyone but her.
It definitely sounds like an upgrade! One more thing about this recipe: you can skip the bourbon if people don’t like it; it won’t make a big difference. It’s best enjoyed gooey and warm. Good luck!
We always have pumpkin and apple pies, plus a wild card third pie that could be key lime (nice and easy), banana cream, s’mores (chocolate cream with a graham cracker crust), lemon meringue, and so on.
For Thanksgiving, consider classic pies like pumpkin, pecan, and apple. Try adding variety with sweet potato, cranberry, or maple bourbon pies. Other great options include chocolate cream or caramel apple pie for a unique twist.
