Aunt Harriets gingerbread cookies:
- Stir margarine, sugar and syrup smoothly.
- Add water, spices and bicarbonate.
- Knead with flour.
- Work the dough.
- Let the dough rest overnight.
- Roll the dough thin, then shape the cookies.
- Bake them for roughly 3 minutes at 250 degrees celcius, then let the cookies cool.
Recipe:
- 300 g margarine (or butter)
- 5 dl sugar
- 1 dl syrup
- 2 dl water
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of clove
- 2 teaspoons of fine cardamom
- 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate
- 8 (1/2) hektograms of flour
