Are there any recipes available for flavorful frozen snacks that are healthier than manufactured frozen snacks?
Any recipes for savory snacks? Something I could prepare ahead of time, freeze, and cook in batches when needed. such as samozas, hot pockets, and pizza bites. Something I can’t prepare in bulk and store in the freezer for a week or two.
Setting:
My children are maturing. These days, teens eat a lot. And lately, I’ve been reducing my intake of processed foods. There are some frozen treats that you can quickly cook or put in an air fryer, but because we live in Asia and not everything has an ingredients list, I’d like to make them myself in larger quantities.
Handmade Samosas
Ingredients include dough, potatoes, peas, onion, cumin, turmeric, and garam masala.
Directions: Saute the onion and cumin; add the potatoes, peas, and spices. Roll dough around filling, freeze on a sheet, and then move to bags. Bake or sauté frozen food.
Personalized Pizza Bites
Ingredients: Toppings, mozzarella, marinara sauce, and pizza crust.
Directions: Stuff sauce, cheese, and garnishes into dough squares. Before baking or airfrying, fold, seal, and freeze.
Make Your Own Hot Pockets
Ingredients: puff pastry, cheddar, broccoli, and chicken.
Instructions: Combine ingredients, encase in dough, freeze, and either bake or air fry.
These can be made in large quantities, frozen, and then cooked as needed.
