How Do I Make Candied Pecans at Home?

Hello bakers…

I’m looking to make some candied pecans for an upcoming party, but I’ve never made them before. I love the sweet and crunchy texture they have and would like to recreate that at home. Does anyone have a tried-and-true recipe or tips on how to make them?

I used this recipe, but replaced the cinnamon with some of last year’s Pumpkin Pie Spice.

Roasted and salted pecans are a better option than raw nuts. I enjoy salt with my sugar. This is a super simple recipe.

Pic 1: Raw ingredients include R&S nuts, vanilla bean paste, eggs, sugar, and PP spice. Before baking, I seasoned with Maldon salt.

Pic 2: Finished product: three bags and a bowl of candied pecans.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom.
  • Using dark brown sugar can give the pecans a richer taste.
  • For a bit of heat, sprinkle in a pinch of cayenne pepper.

Enjoy your homemade candied pecans.
