I accidentally added too much baking powder to my muffins

It only occurred to me after I baked them and saw how strange they appeared. As soon as I sampled one, I realized I had made a mistake.

I realized after looking back at the instructions that I should have used three teaspoons, but I used three TABLEspoons instead.

Do I need to throw the muffins or is there anything I can do with them?

Do not throw them away yet. You can try these two impressive ideas I found out in a certain forum.

  • Crumb topping: If the muffins are too salty or sweet, you can crumble them up and use them as a topping for yogurt, ice cream, or even a fruit salad.
  • Cake pops: Crumble the muffins, mix them with a bit of frosting, and form into balls. Dip them in melted chocolate for a fun treat.

They will taste bad. I experienced this at the bakery when I accidentally put too much in the cranberry scones. They ended up being fed to the chickens after the head baker got on my case. He told me to taste them, and I agreed with his opinion when I did.
