Is it worth buying a Stand mixer?

I have been baking forever, literally since I was a kid! But I hardly ever use a stand mixer maybe just once as a child. I’m used to mixing things by hand (gotta love that arm workout!), or maybe using my little hand mixer for things like meringue. So, I’m wondering, is a stand mixer really worth having in the kitchen? What benefits am I missing out on by not having one?

Stand mixers save effort (no hand mixing), give consistent results (perfect cakes), and do more (shredding, pasta). Worth it for convenience, but if you’re happy mixing by hand, keep rocking it

Yes if you bake a lot a stand mixer can be a game-changer. It saves time and effort, especially for tasks like kneading dough or whipping up large batches. It’s also more consistent than hand mixing. If you’re serious about baking, it’s worth considering.

Personally, I wouldn’t advise purchasing one for less than £100. Having tried a few various models, they’re all rather flimsy and don’t perform well. If you’re considering investing, I suggest choosing a used one from a reputable brand.
