I’m in the mood for baking and would love to make some delicious chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. I’m looking for a recipe that’s not only easy to follow but also results in cookies that are soft and chewy with a good balance of chocolate and oats.
Does anyone have a favorite recipe or tips for making the perfect chocolate chip oatmeal cookies? Any advice on ingredients, baking techniques, or how to achieve the right texture would be greatly appreciated.
My favorite oatmeal cookie recipe is from Joanne Chang. It is true that it is a bit “greasier” and has more butter than the original Quaker recipe. I often use chocolate chips instead of raisins when I make it, as written.

For the best chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, mix 1 cup butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 1/2 cups flour, 3 cups oats, and 1 cup chocolate chips. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12 minutes.
I use the OG JT recipe and it fabulous! And I usually use Ghirardelli bittersweet chips and semisweet chips instead of fancy chocolate which helps with costs. I def love the amount of chocolate in them though
