What’s a good savory pastry to make for a beginner?

I would like something that includes salmon, potatoes, and onions. Idk, cheese, spinach. I have a flimsy, mushy thought. I have made rolls and pies previously, but I have never tried baking bread, so I would like to give those a go.

Knish is made with potatoes as the filling; this recipe is pretty simple to construct. You can manage the dough if you’ve managed bread because it’s not that difficult.

My fave is sigara boregi, which is stuffed with spinach and feta cheese. However, I’ve never tried making the filo myself. It’s not an easy task, this.

Choux is my personal favorite. I had a French girlfriend who introduced me to it. Stumbled on this YouTube tutorial and I have never looked back
