Thank you! I use Claire Saffitz’s recipe (it’s on YouTube) and add a couple tablespoons of corn syrup because I think it adds a bit of a sheen.

Santa cookies are Claire Saffitz’s sugar cookies (she’s got a good video on it on YouTube).
I got the cookie cutter from a garage sale last spring, no idea where it’s from. My white royal icing was so stiff that the beard texture happened when I tried to even the icing out with a toothpick, so I just went with it.
